Kontron DIMM-PC/COMBO2 08014-0000-01-2 VGA, Ethernet and Two Serial Interface Expansion Module Simple Type: Expansion Module

The DIMM-PC/COMBO2 is an add-on module for the DIMM-PC series. It is a combination of three single modules, DIMM-PC/VGA2, DIMM-PC/ETN1 and DIMM-PC/COM1. The VGA LCD feature is a highly integrated VGA controller that can directly drive monochrome, passive color (STN) and TFT displays. The connected display is automatically recognized via cable con?guration and the timing is correspondingly adjusted. Resolutions on CRT go up to 1024x768, however on LCD maximum resolution is limited to 800x600. A high graphic-performance is achieved by means of special features such as hardware cursor, color expansion, 32 Bit memory and 16 bit I/0 access. 1 MByte graphic memory and a 128 kByte PROM holding the VGA-BIOS are on-board. The Ethernet feature is equipped with the Crystal LAN CS8900 ISA Ethernet adapter from Crystal Semiconductor following the IEEE802.3 standard and supports half or full-duplex operation in ISA Bus computers on 10 Mbps Ethernet networks. The controllers I/O addresses are software con?gurable via a DOS setup program. The serial part is equipped with the SMC 37C665 I/O-controller and adds two more serial ports to a DIMM-PC system. The signals of the serial ports are available on the DIMM-I/O connector in TTL levels. The customer can decide to use different types of interfaces (RS232, RS485, TTY etc.) by adding his own driver circuitry on his base board. The DIMM-PC/COMBO2 is designed for a 144pin DIMM-connector found in most notebooks as a memory socket. Note that this connector is different to the one used for the DIMM-PC/CPU. The pin-out of DIMM-PC/CPU and DIMM-PC/COMBO2 are well considered, so an easy and short routing on the customers design is possible (a direct pin to pin connection)
