Embedded, that is strong requirements for the used components, that are responsible for the systems' reliability. These requirements are no moving parts, no active heat dissipation, low power consumption, e.g. less than 2,5 watt and standard PC interfaces.The MOPS/386A disclaims moving parts at all, like socketed flashes and DRAMS, batteries and rotating fans. The systems reliability is enhanced significantly. With an ALi 386er CPU at 40 MHz as well as 2 MByte DRAM and 4 MByte Flash most tasks are met, that a real embedded PC/104 has to face. Onboard 10Base-T Ethernet qualifies the board for embedded Internet-applications and expands its use. The CPU is fully ISA-Bus compliant.Rounding up interfaces there is furthermore an 8x10 touch matrix-interface. Due to its extreme low power design and low power consumption no cooling device at all is needed.
